Creativity brings you back to calm, pride and gentleness. Nathalie shares her story to show how, by giving your creative talent space, you can land again. She sees creativity as self-care: slowing down, trying and discovering — and especially enjoying the process.

Creativity is for me a valuable resting point in an otherwise busy and dynamic life. I enjoy the silence, the focus and the pleasure that arise when I’m completely absorbed in something I’m making myself. For me, it’s mainly about the process: the journey there, the curiosity, the experimenting. I notice time and again that the most beautiful results emerge when I dare to let go. Holding on too tightly to a plan or preconceived idea can sometimes be very limiting.

In 2019, I translated my creative energy into my own concept: “Iets CreaLiefs” (Something CreativeSweet). For me, creativity grew into a second breath. Especially in watercolor, I found my greatest passion: the combination of pigment, water and paper, the rhythm of working, and the playfulness of the unexpected. Watercolor is for me not just a technique, but also a way to combine attention, expression and freedom.

I bring that same passion to IetsCreaLiefs. I want to inspire others to discover their own creativity, to slow down and especially to enjoy the creative process itself, without purely focusing on the result.
